The Gibsonville Fire Department is looking for you! Become part of a progressive emergency response organization. Share the desire to safeguard the citizens within the Town of Gibsonville and surrounding areas. Experience the brother/sisterhood of belonging to one of the most prestigious organizations in the world…the fire service. Basic Requirements:Getting started is easy….- Stop by the station and pick up an application packet Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm.
- Complete application to include criminal background check.
- No training requirements for new members. New members will receive in-house fire (1403 certification) and basic first-aid training. The Gibsonville Fire Department recommends Level II Certification within five years.
- 36 hours of training minimum requirement to maintain membership on state roster and pension fund.
- Maximum 30 person roster.
Benefits:- The ultimate benefit is helping citizens within the town limits of Gibsonville and surrounding areas in the event of an emergency. A great sense of community involvement and serving a good cause is very rewarding.
- Training is free! Vast knowledge is obtained that will benefit both in/out of the home.
- Members/Firefighters receive a reimbursement check for training and emergency responses. Checks are distributed in six month intervals.
- Members/Officers receive reimbursement checks for training and emergency responses.
- After six months of probationary status, new members are added to the North Carolina Pension Fund, which is paid after 20 years of service and at age 55.
